CHURCHSAFE TRAINING

It is a requirement that the following attend an introduction to safe ministry training

(ChurchSafe) followed by a refresher every three years:

• All those in leadership roles; including: Church Council members, Liturgical Assistants, LPM”s, Treasurer, Warden, Welcomers,

Church workers and paid employees who are actively involved in children’s ministry and activities.

Whilst the Diocese recognises there are many community programs available, all church workers must

attend training that is facilitated and accredited by the Diocese in keeping with the Safe Ministry to

Children Canon and the Safe Ministry Training Benchmarks.

NB: ChurchSafe training primarily focusses on child sexual abuse and prevention strategies as required by

the Safe Ministry to Children Canon (2017). The course content can be graphic and anyone who attends

this training and is distressed by the content should speak with the Presenter, the Director of Professional

Standards or your Parish Priest.

All sessions can be viewed on the Diocesan website

www.perth.anglican.org/events

Attendance is by registration only so that numbers can be monitored for physical distancing and catering

purposes. If you cannot attend after registering for the event, please advise

screenings@perth.anglican.org so that others have the opportunity to fill the vacancy. Contact details

MUST be provided in the booking details so that attendees can be contacted should there be any changes

to the event.
